FAQs

What is Encap Storage?

It is electrostatic storage, which has long life, fast charging, non-degrading, safe, fully recyclable and biodegradable attributes.

What is the difference between Encap storage and Supercaps?

Encap storage is used for energy storage applications, like batteries, i.e. where large amount of energy are delivered over long periods of time. Applications such as Telecom towers, Residential Backup, Grid Storage, EV charging Stations, Microgrids etc.

Supercaps, on the other hand, are used for power applications, i.e. where short bursts of energy are delivered for short periods of time. Applications like cranking or voltage support etc.

How does Encap Storage behave like a battery?

Algorithm-based control electronics control encapsulated capacitor cell behavior specifically,

  1. Active cell balancing when connected in series and parallel
  2. Output of a flat discharge curve
  3. Rate of self-discharge

Is the Encap cell a li-ion/supercap hybrid or LTO or some other form of chemical battery/supercap hybrid?

No, it is not a hybrid nor it is LTO. The encap cell uses Encapsulated Capacitor Technology.

What products are main competitors?

All chemical batteries in all applications.

What duration is Encap storage capable of?

Encap Storage can be used for all durations – Short, medium and long without any change in base technology.
